Samsung launches the W21 5G smartphone in Chine, which borrows most of its specifications from the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. In fact, it is a re-branded version with minor changes in design and dual SIM functionality. The backside has now vertical lines instead of the plan portion found on the Galaxy Fold2. Another difference is in price.
The galaxy Z fold 2 5G is selling for around CNY 17,000 in the domestic market, while the Samsung W21 5G is priced at CNY 19,999. The extra cost gives the dual SIM function as well as a different look and feel. Overall, you can call it a reb-branded device with minor improvements. The Samsung W21 5G offers a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 120Hz display at 1768 x 2208 pixels resolution when unfolded, while the cover display is a 6.23-inch panel protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset coupled with Adreno 650 GPU. As for optics, it has a triple rear camera with a 12MP primary sensor combined with a 12MP ultra-wide and 12MP telephoto lens. There is a 10MP snapper to capture selfies.
Furthermore, the handset packs a 4500 mAh non-removable battery with 25W fast wired charging and 11W wireless charging. It runs on Android 10 on top of custom OneUI 2.5 out of the box. The variant launched in China has 512GB of internal storage paired with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, which is a top variant of Galaxy Z Fold2. All the necessary connectivity options are present on this device. The fingerprint sensor is embedded on the side; Hence, no in-display fingerprint sensor. All in all, this is a premium offering with a foldable design. What are your thoughts?
